How to Use the Catalog: Register

Why Register?

Anyone can search the catalog without logging in. To place holds, see due dates, renew items and more, you need to set up your account after you get your Library Card.

How to Register

  1. From the Library homepage, select the red My Account button  (OR)
    From the Library catalog, in the top right, select the red Log In / My APL button or your username / initial.
  2. Enter your information. If you've forgotten your password, reset it online or call 512-974-7475.

  3. Select Log in. On the Welcome screen, select Continue to Account Setup.
     
  4. Confirm that your information is correct and select Continue.
     
  5. Create a unique username. To protect their privacy, children under 13 will combine an animal and a color to generate a username. Learn more about children’s usernames.
    Note: If your username is taken, you will be prompted to choose another one.
     
  6. Read the BiblioCommons Terms of Use. If you accept them, check the box, then click Complete Account Setup.

  7. Check your email for the confirmation email and click the link it contains to verify your email address.

 

You’re done! You can now log into My APL with your username or your card number to place holds, renew items, and use other catalog features.
