Small, local companies can be challenging to research. Often the best way to find information is to search for articles published about the company in local or regional newspapers, magazines, and trade journals. If the company is publicly traded, the company must file reports with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Find more information on researching public companies in the Public Companies tab.
