Early literacy, or early learning, refers to all the things that children know about reading and writing before they actually learn how to read or write. Our Early Learner library events focus on the 5 practices of Read, Write, Talk, Sing and Play and helps caregivers fold these concepts into their daily interactions with their child. You will find an introduction video explaining the importance of each of these practices with suggested activities under each. Doing these activities with your child will not only prepare them for future reading and writing, but will also create a stronger bond, and many happy memories during these early years.
La alfabetización temprana, o aprendizaje temprano, se refiere a todas las cosas que los niños saben acerca de la lectura y la escritura antes de que realmente aprendan a leer o escribir. Nuestros eventos de la biblioteca para niños pequeños se enfocan en las 5 prácticas de leer, escribir, hablar, cantar y jugar y ayudan a los cuidadores a integrar estos conceptos en sus interacciones diarias con sus hijos.
